ABOUT SEPABNA

Our Founder - Dr. Lucy E. Yates, Ed.D, MSN, BSN, RN

SEPABNA is a chapter of the National Black Nurses Association, Inc. founded by the late Dr. Lucy E. Yates Ed. D, MSN, BSN, RN. We are a professional organization of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing students who contribute to improving the quality of life of persons in marginalized and ethnic groups.

Our VISION

Our vision is to promote excellence, nurture creativity, and reward results. We envision ourselves as leaders in:

  • Provision of education to the community and chapter members

  • Collaboration and initiation of programs with other health care providers to empower minority communities to take charge of their health needs

  • Utilization and investigation of current research strategies to enhance the health status of the African American community

    Facilitate the educational development of members that are in the emerging health care system.

    Develop strategies ensuring access to quality health care for members of minoritized communities.

    Foster an organizational environment that is conducive to the recruitment and retention of its members.

    Collaborate with healthcare providers to promote health maintenance & wellness of minority communities..
